Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Engineer Systems Architect to design system architectures, define capabilities and requirements, and establish technology constraints. This role involves maintaining an engineering model using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include creating conceptual and physical data models, implementing data strategies, performing systems requirements analysis, and managing requirements throughout their lifecycle. The position requires a STEM degree with relevant experience and an active DoD Interim Top Secret clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work with the cross-functional teams to create conceptual data models and data flows
  2. Design, develop, and document systems that contain logical solutions using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  3. Review modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility
  4. Implement data strategies and developing physical data models
  5. Coach team members on developing the requirements, architecture, design, and implementation in the model

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 1 year of related professional/military experience
  • Experience developing model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering
  • Experience modeling software systems and software system of systems
  • Experience with Systems engineering tools (i.e. Cameo Suite) and Agile framework
  • Experience with RNP and RNAV navigation specifications
  • Active DoD Interim Top Secret (or higher) clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
