Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal HR Business Partner to support the Manufacturing and Operations HR Organization. The role involves partnering with engineering leaders to develop and implement HR strategies, manage HR projects, drive talent and performance management, and foster a supportive work environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with experience in HR disciplines and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate with engineering leaders to develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs (e.g., succession planning, workforce development, compensation, and EEO) that align with business goals.
  2. Lead, plan, and execute multiple concurrent HR projects from inception to completion, driving organizational change and process improvements.
  3. Drive talent identification, performance management, and career development initiatives to build bench strength and enhance employee retention.
  4. Act as a trusted advisor to build a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.
  5. Work closely with HR peers, leaders, and Centers of Excellence (COE’s) including compensation, employee relations, legal, and organization effectiveness to deliver seamless HR solutions across the organization.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree AND 5 years of Human Resources experience OR Masters degree and 3 years of Human Resources experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S Government Secret clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet business needs
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time

Nice to have

  • Strong technical competence across one or more HR disciplines: Leadership Development, Talent Management, Employee Relations
  • Demonstrated experience in prioritizing the workday, balancing multiple projects, and working across multiple deadlines
  • Proficiency in Workday
  • Previous HR experience in Aerospace & Defense
  • Current/active U.S Government clearance
