This role focuses on applying human performance principles to the design of human-machine systems and products, developing research methodologies, and evaluating prototypes. It involves interfacing with design engineers to optimize human-machine interfaces and identifying technological problems. The role requires familiarity with military standards for human factors and system safety, and serves as a liaison between software development, systems engineering, and other cross-functional teams. A Secret clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Apply human performance principles, methodologies, and technologies to the design of human-machine systems and products.
  2. Develops and implements research methodologies and statistical analysis plans to test and evaluate developmental prototypes used in new products and processes, user workstations, and computerized human models.
  3. Interfaces with design engineers to establish system design, operating, and training requirements and to ensure optimized human-machine interfaces.
  4. Identifies and analyzes technological problems or risks, performs theoretical human factors investigations, and develops and implements research and analysis plans.
  5. Serve as a liaison between software development teams, systems engineering teams, and other cross-functional roles.
