Principal Infrastructure Engineer, M&a

Salesforce Salesforce · Enterprise · San Francisco, New York - New York, Georgia - Atlanta, Washington - Seattle, Indiana - Indianapolis, CA

Salesforce is seeking a Principal Infrastructure Engineer for their IT Mergers and Acquisitions team. This role focuses on defining and executing the infrastructure integration strategy for acquisitions, ensuring secure and rapid scaling of enterprise technology. The engineer will design reference architectures, integration standards, and lead large-scale transformation initiatives, while also building playbooks, tooling, and automation frameworks. The role involves mentoring other engineers and influencing long-term infrastructure strategy, including AI-driven operational improvements.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own and continuously evolve the enterprise-wide M&A infrastructure integration strategy across acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic business transformations — defining scalable, repeatable integration models that compress time-to-integration while reducing operational risk across collaboration, endpoint, network, and datacenter domains.
  2. Design and maintain reference architectures, integration standards, migration patterns, and Day 1 / Day 30 / Day 90 integration frameworks that enable the organization to run multiple concurrent deals consistently and predictably.
  3. Serve as the senior technical lead and escalation point for high-risk, high-complexity integrations — driving architectural decisions that span security, user experience, operational scalability, compliance, and cost optimization.
  4. Lead large-scale transformation initiatives including security remediation, collaboration platform migrations, endpoint modernization, datacenter exits, and enterprise service rationalization, ensuring each program delivers durable operational outcomes.
  5. Build and improve enterprise integration playbooks, tooling standards, automation frameworks, and observability capabilities that reduce manual effort, increase consistency across deals, and surface integration readiness in real time.
