Principal Material Program Manager

This role is for a Principal Material Program Manager at RTX, supporting advanced technology programs in the defense industry. The candidate will be responsible for managing material delivery and financial performance, acting as a liaison between Supply Chain and Program teams. Key responsibilities include driving purchase requisitions, coordinating requirements, tracking sales performance, developing material program plans, and participating in supplier engagements. Requires experience with US Government contractual requirements and supply chain processes. A security clearance is mandatory.

What you'd actually do

  1. Driving Purchase Requisition generation & Purchase Order placement/management using Material Request Forms (MRF) and/or Master Scheduling Authorization Tool (MSALT)
  2. Coordinating purchase requirements with Engineering, Program Operations Management, and Production Control Planning and Scheduling
  3. Understand, track and report material sales performance against forecasts
  4. Develop and execute a Material Program Plan (MPP) and Supplier Management Plans (SMPs)
  5. Generate Supplier Request for Information/Proposals/Quotes (RFIs/RFPs/RFQs), and obtain and understand supplier proposals/quotes

Skills

Required

  • University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience
  • Experience with US Government contractual requirements, including applicable FAR, DFARS flow downs.
  • Experience with Supply Chain, Operations, and/or Procurement processes and requirements
  • Prior work experience with Microsoft Office software applications (Word, PowerPoint, and/or Excel including Pivot Tables)

Nice to have

  • Supply chain management experience in the Aerospace or Defense Industry
  • Prior work experience with Microsoft Office software applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel/Pivot Tables)
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills and experience leading and/or participating in cross functional teams
  • Good financial acumen, including management of budgets and forecasts
