This role focuses on the mechanical engineering and design of data center infrastructure, including cooling systems and power solutions, to support the delivery of AI products and other high-density computing technologies. The Principal Mechanical Engineer will lead design, development, testing, and innovation initiatives, ensuring reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness in Oracle Cloud's data centers.

What you'd actually do

  1. Leads and sets direction for the design and development of mechanical systems including components, enclosures, and packaging, ensuring reliability, performance, and manufacturability.
  2. Contributes to the technical vision and sets best practices for the use of advanced computer aided design (CAD) tools, mentoring cross-functional teams in refining innovative mechanical solutions.
  3. Establishes best practices and frameworks for mechanical strength and reliability testing of materials and components, collaborating with operations and suppliers to drive cost-effective production.
  4. Defines protocols for and leads testing and reliability assessments, shaping design refinements and corrective action plans.
  5. Leads high impact mechanical engineering initiatives, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
