Principal Network Automation Engineer

NVIDIA NVIDIA · Semiconductors · Santa Clara, CA

This role focuses on leading the architecture, design, and implementation of network automation platforms, integrating enterprise-ready platforms, and building a solid foundation with automation for AI infrastructure. The primary focus is on network engineering and automation, not directly building AI models or agents.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead architecture, design, and implementation of network automation platforms across datacenter, cloud, campus, and enterprise environments.
  2. Build source-of-truth–driven automation workflows using in-house platforms and authoritative network data models.
  3. Design and maintain scalable data models for sites, fabrics, roles, interfaces, addressing, and deployment intent.
  4. Generate intent-based deployment artifacts (cutsheets, cable matrices, rack elevations, port maps, deployment docs) from network models.
  5. Build configuration generation pipelines using templating + IaC patterns to render device/service configs from model data.
