Principal Partner Sales Executive

This role is for a Principal Partner Sales Executive at Zendesk, focusing on building and managing partner-led business in the Japan market. The role involves recruiting, onboarding, and enabling partners to drive sales of Zendesk's customer experience software, which incorporates AI. The executive will achieve sales targets, build joint business plans with partners, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure partner success and pipeline generation. While Zendesk's product uses AI, this role is primarily sales-focused, not directly involved in building or researching AI models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build a powerful ecosystem of partners that are aligned with our Go To Market priorities and amplify the Zendesk brand in the region
  2. Achieve our Partner sales targets, both across new business as well as expansion opportunities within existing customers
  3. Assess whether you have sufficient capacity and capability from your existing partners and recruit, onboard and enable new partners if you have gaps
  4. Enable our Partners on key Zendesk value propositions and sales plays such that they are a true extension of Zendesk to our mutual clients and prospects. Train Partners on Zendesk products, systems, Partner Connect portal, and enablement tools
  5. Build a joint business plan with each of your top partners, reviewing progress quarterly. Take appropriate remedial actions if there are gaps in performance (both from a Zendesk and Partner perspective).

Skills

Required

  • 10+ years of selling business-to-business
  • 3 years of experience in a high tech, fast paced software SaaS company
  • Quota carrying experience
  • Proficiency with various software applications programs, including: Google Apps, CRM, Docs, Spreadsheets, etc.
  • Strong prospecting capabilities
  • Excellent time management and organization capabilities
  • Tenacity, drive, and motivation to be a top performer
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Outstanding video conference presence
  • Proficient in creating business plans with C-level stakeholders
  • Significant experience selling within the software/SaaS industry
  • Self motivated and accountable

  • Flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high growth, and collaborative environment
  • Strong analytical skills
