Principal Procurement Specialist (hybrid Tx or Az)

This role is to provide the sourcing and acquisition of materials and services for complex equipment, while managing supplier performance and purchase orders throughout their life cycle against DoD, FMS, and internal spend. The role involves leading supplier negotiations, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing proposal activities, identifying and qualifying suppliers, conducting cost/price analysis, overseeing post-award supplier performance, and driving supplier engagement to meet program milestones.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead supplier negotiations on price, schedule, and terms & conditions.
  2. Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, RTX terms, and export/import regulations.
  3. Review Statements of Work (SOWs) and develop PIAs/NDAs.
  4. Manage proposal and quotation activities, documentation, and compliance packages.
  5. Identify, qualify, and perform due diligence on suppliers; seek alternates as needed.

Skills

Required

  • bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ relevant experience
  • DoD procurement/subcontract compliance with Public Laws, Policies, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFAR), and ITAR
  • negotiating terms and conditions
  • SAP procurement software tools, such as PRISM and APEX
