Principal Product Manager for NGINX, responsible for shaping product vision, strategy, roadmaps, and go-to-market approaches. This role involves collaborating with engineering, marketing, and sales teams, engaging with the open-source community, and ensuring alignment with cloud-native architectures and F5's broader platform. The focus is on driving revenue, adoption, and delivering developer-centric solutions.

What you'd actually do

  1. Refine and articulate a clear product vision and strategy for NGINX Open Source and Plus, ensuring alignment with market trends, customer needs, and organizational objectives.
  2. Develop and maintain detailed product roadmaps, collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and drive execution.
  3. Partner with marketing and sales teams to position NGINX as a key component of F5’s Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP), crafting compelling narratives for both enterprise and SMB audiences.
  4. Influence and inform monetization strategy, identifying opportunities for scalable business models and aligning product direction with revenue goals.
  5. Collaborate with Technical Product Managers and engineering teams to deliver developer-centric solutions, ensuring feasibility and technical depth.

Skills

Required

  • 10+ years of product management experience in the software industry
  • Experience with on-premise, installed, and deployable software
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Proven experience driving global products
  • Expertise in cloud-native architectures and tools (Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, API gateways, AWS)
  • Experience defining and monetizing products (subscription, licensing, open-source business models)
