Principal Product Manager

Microsoft Microsoft · Big Tech · Redmond, WA +1 · Product Management

Principal Product Manager for Microsoft Entra's identity platform, focusing on next-generation identity SDKs. This 0->1 role involves defining, shipping, and growing SDK products that give external developers control over authentication experiences and enable consistent sign-in flows at scale within Microsoft. The role emphasizes leveraging AI to accelerate developer discovery, integration, and troubleshooting.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and deliver the SDK that gives customers complete UX ownership while we handle the security and scale underneath.
  2. Own the SDK strategy for single-page applications and server-rendered web apps.
  3. Own the SDK that enables Microsoft's internal app teams to adopt a consistent, unified sign-in experience across web, mobile, desktop, and browser.
  4. Design the SDK-level onramp for customers adopting Entra External ID for the first time — whether starting greenfield or migrating from another provider.
  5. Drive consistency across web, mobile, and server-side SDKs — shared error models, token lifecycle, telemetry, versioning, CLI tooling, IDE integration, and AI-assisted diagnostics.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product management or software development or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.

Nice to have

  • 6+ years experience shipping developer platforms, SDKs, or API products used by enterprise or consumer-scale developers.
  • 6+ years experience defining product strategy and driving cross-functional execution across engineering, design, and go-to-market teams.
  • Track record building 0→1 developer products — not just iterating existing ones — with full end-to-end ownership from strategy to shipping.
  • AI-first product thinking: experience using AI to fundamentally reshape developer workflows — not just adding AI as a feature.
  • Deep understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, WebAuthn/passkeys, and modern web security patterns.
  • Experience driving SDK or platform adoption across large application portfolios — spanning both consumer-scale identity (CIAM) and enterprise workforce scenarios.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, influence without direct authority, and communicate complex technical decisions to both engineering and business.
