Principal Product Manager - Microsoft Discovery

The Principal Product Manager will define and execute a new vision for AI-driven science platform development within the Microsoft Discovery and Quantum team. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to build new product experiences, shape underlying AI capabilities, and foster innovation. The focus is on accelerating scientific discovery by integrating Microsoft's technology and AI.

What you'd actually do

  1. As a Principal Product Manager with an entrepreneurial mindset, you will play an integral role in defining and executing a new vision for AI-driven science platform development.
  2. You will influence others to drive business impact across the organization and track success criteria for multiple feature areas across divisions.
  3. You will define a feature set and facilitate senior-level usability reviews with customers.
  4. You will scale Product Marketing teams by building marketing and roll-out plans, as well as leading the creation of customer support plans.
  5. As an expert, you will partner with others to collect performance metrics and form hypotheses for complex technical needs in order to improve product development in multiple areas.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/program management or software development
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements

  • Familiarity with modern AI technologies, agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), automation, or workflow orchestration.
  • Passion for building products that help customers achieve meaningful business outcomes at global scale.
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/program management or software development
  • 4+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market
  • 6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market
  • 6+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience
  • 4+ years experience shipping production-ready code as a result of a collaborative process
