Workday is seeking a Principal Product Manager for their PATT & Benefits team. This role involves understanding user needs, balancing them with business constraints, and defining product vision and roadmaps. The Product Manager will drive cross-functional initiatives, operate as a designer of business processes and technical requirements, and influence without authority using a data-driven approach. The role requires extensive experience in product management, specifically within Benefits, Payroll, Absence, or Time Tracking, and a strong understanding of Workday's product capabilities.

  2. You are someone who can operate as a designer, of both business process and technical requirements, and a product manager to ensure implemented solutions deliver exciting experiences.
  3. You will be responsible for driving large cross-functional initiatives and implementations that enable us to create amazing experiences for our Workmates-to help us achieve our goal of accelerating Workday’s business growth.
  4. While we empower our product teams to identify the best solutions to problems that need to be solved, we also hold those teams accountable to the results. We look for product managers who are not afraid of signing up for results, even when this means they have to work through others to achieve results.
  5. This job is an individual contributor role and often needs to take a data driven approach to influence without authority including colleagues, business partners, and key executives.

Skills

Required

  • 10+ years experience working on technology-powered products as a product manager, product designer, engineer, data analyst, data scientist, or user researcher.
  • 8+ years demonstrated ability in collecting, synthesizing, and prioritizing user input from multiple sources (users, leaders, competitors, market factors, partners, engineering, management, etc.).
  • 5+ years functional experience managing experiences in one or more of the following: Benefits, Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking.
  • 5+ years experience within a team leadership role.
  • 5+ years experience with Workday product capabilities and industry standards for designing best in class experiences.
  • Demonstrated understanding of modern product discovery and product delivery techniques and methods.
  • Strong ability to understand and interpret data to develop a hypothesis and define experiments to prove (or disprove).
  • Ability to identify solutions to hard problems with many constraints, assess risks, and lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative.
  • Proven ability to learn multiple functional areas of business – engineering, design, strategy, etc.
  • Proven track record of engaging with engineers, architects, designers, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship.
