This role focuses on guiding business and product strategy for Okta's workforce product portfolio, with a significant emphasis on assessing the disruptive potential and strategic implications of emerging AI technologies on the Identity Security market. The Principal, Product Strategy will architect strategic vision, own the end-to-end strategy lifecycle, accelerate new product innovation, and generate advanced analytics to inform decision-making, all while influencing executive stakeholders. The role requires a deep understanding of B2B SaaS models and strategic AI fluency, particularly concerning AI's impact on enterprise security.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate with VP+ level stakeholders across Product Management, Product Marketing, Finance, Corporate Development, and GTM teams to architect and drive next-generation business strategies for the product portfolio. Critically, you will assess the disruptive potential and strategic implications of emerging AI technologies on the Identity Security market and Okta’s competitive positioning.
  2. Own the entire strategic lifecycle: from hypothesis development, rigorous market research and competitive intelligence, opportunity sizing, financial impact modeling, and formulation of high-impact, actionable recommendations, through to X-functional alignment at the executive level.
  3. Jointly develop and execute granular, driver-based growth plans for new product innovation in partnership with Product, Product Marketing, and Sales leadership.
  4. Drive sophisticated, driver-based analysis, leveraging advanced quantitative methods to diagnose root causes of product performance variance and translate those findings into concrete, high-leverage strategic actions.
  5. Deliver compelling, executive-ready presentations and expertly facilitate high-stakes discussions to secure alignment and drive critical strategic decisions with VP/SVP level functional leaders, leveraging data and strategic storytelling.

Skills

Required

  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant work experience, with 2+ years post-MBA experience in high-impact strategy (product / corporate), top-tier management consulting, product management, growth, or investment banking roles.
  • Demonstrable understanding of complex B2B SaaS business models and value drivers.
  • Strategic AI Fluency: Demonstrated experience in leveraging AI tools and advanced analytics to inform strategic decision-making, with a strong, actionable perspective on the strategic implications of AI on B2B SaaS and Enterprise Security.
  • Proven track record in building and sustaining trusted, executive-level advisory relationships (VP / SVP / President).
  • Expertise in navigating complex, ambiguous data environments where clear data is scarce, translating complexity into clear, synthesized strategic narratives.

Nice to have

  • Experience in customer research via sophisticated quantitative and quantitative methods.
  • Deep understanding of the B2B Enterprise technology space, ideally within Enterprise Security and Identity & Access Management.
  • Experience at top-tier consulting firms (McKinsey, Bain, BCG).
  • An MBA from a leading program is strongly preferred.
