Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Principal Production Operations Specialist to support Mission Survivability Systems (MSS) Production and Development programs. This role involves managing proposals, production planning, and execution of manufacturing programs, coordinating with engineering, supply chain, and mission assurance. The specialist will interface with the Program Office, represent Operations Manufacturing, oversee proposal generation, and develop production tools/metrics. Responsibilities include monthly reconciliation of Sales Order WBS to MRP WBS and ensuring compliance with company objectives. Requires a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or equivalent, experience leading teams, MRP experience, and the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. Experience in defense/aerospace, prototype to production, and proposal generation is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as the primary Manufacturing Operations interface with the Program Office,
  2. Coordinate/collaborate with engineering, Supply Chain Management, and Mission Assurance on all aspects of manufacturing programs.
  3. Responsible for managing proposals, production planning, and execution of manufacturing programs, while monitoring and addressing all cost, schedule, performance, and quality issues.
  4. Represent the Operations Manufacturing organization as a prime contact on contracts or programs. Interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
  5. Oversee the generation of proposals, including basis of estimates, resource codes, estimate rational, bid codes, and overhead and labor rates.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience; OR a Master’s degree and 3 or more years of relevant work experience; OR 9 or more years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience leading teams or projects.
  • Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance.
  • US Citizenship required.
