Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Production Scheduler & Planner to coordinate production workflow, plan and prioritize operations, create production work order documentation, and manage material and staffing requirements for manufacturing programs. The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in detailed planning and scheduling within a work cell environment, or equivalent experience, along with proficiency in MRP systems and MS Office.

What you'd actually do

  1. Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple programs and products
  2. Plan and prioritize operations to ensure customer schedule and requirements are met
  3. Create production work order documentation for release to the shop floor
  4. Assist in determining manpower required to meet schedule demands,
  5. Work with materials planning to determine and schedule materials needed to cover production demand

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years’ experience performing detailed panning and scheduling of work at a work cell environment; 4 additional years of experience in related field will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience working with an inventory and/or materials requirements planning MRP system
  • Ability to work well as part of an integrated team including technicians, engineers, principal level engineers/scientists along with internal and external customers
  • High level of proficiency in MS Word and Excel; basic experience with PowerPoint
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced, highly technical work environment
  • Responsible self-starter and team player with manufacturing and production or service experience

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure and very tight timelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification a plus.
