This role is for a Principal Program Cost Control Analyst at Northrop Grumman, supporting the Navigation, Intelligence, & Connectivity Division. The analyst will be responsible for creating and analyzing financial reports, managing invoicing, and performing monthly/quarterly financial tasks like EACs, IPRS, and Financial Forecasts. Key duties include interfacing with program stakeholders, preparing budgets and schedules, performing Earned Value Management (EVM) tasks, monitoring costs and schedules on contracts, and supporting audits and financial planning activities. A Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience or a Master's with 3 years is required, along with EVM experience and proficiency in financial systems and Excel. A Secret clearance is also required.

What you'd actually do

  1. partnering with key program stakeholders to create & analyze reports, work on invoicing opportunities and assist with monthly/quarterly tasks such as EACs, IPRS and Financial Forecasts.
  2. interface with the program managers, functional management, cost account managers (CAMs) and business managers to provide financial support and analysis to meet program requirements.
  3. prepare budgets and schedules for contract work and assist in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, cash forecasting, and variance analysis.
  4. monitor costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system.
  5. perform analysis and prepare reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines, including maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related professional experience or Master's degree with 3 years of related professional experience (or 9 years of applied experience)
  • Experience with Earned Value Management
  • Experience with financial systems including cost performance reporting and analysis
  • Strong PC skills - specifically Excel proficiency (including pivot tables, Vlookup, and conditional formatting)
  • Ability to travel domestically 10% of the time
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret level clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Nice to have

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or related field
  • Experience with COBRA, COGNOS, SAP
  • Current, active DoD Secret security clearance
