This role is for a Principal Program Cost Control Analyst at Northrop Grumman, focusing on financial support and analysis for an operating unit. Responsibilities include preparing monthly reports, sales outlook, cash forecasting, variance analysis, monitoring costs and schedules using Earned Value Management (EVM), developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), budget baselines, cost risk analysis, and preparing estimates to complete. The analyst will also support audits, financial planning activities, and prepare financial inputs for internal reports.

What you'd actually do

  1. The PCA will interface with the Operating Unit management team, program managers, functional management, and business managers to provide financial support and analysis to meet OU requirements.
  2. They will prepare monthly reports for OU and assist in financial analyses such as sales outlook, cash forecasting, and variance analysis.
  3. The PCA will monitor costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system.
  4. This will include performing perform Earned Value Metric (EVM) tasks such as Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development, budget baseline, cost risk analysis/ assessment and visibility reports, development, and analysis of estimates to complete.
  5. The PCA will perform analysis and prepare reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines, including maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related professional experience - OR - a Master's degree with 3 years of related professional experience
  • Experience with financial systems including cost performance reporting and analysis
  • Experience developing and presenting financial information to executive level management.
  • Experience with Earned Value and performance measurement baseline concepts and ability to apply them to multiple contracts, CLINs and control accounts.
  • Experience with COBRA, SAP, COGNOS - specifically using DRBW Formulas, PAX Exploration
  • Strong PC skills - specifically Excel proficiency (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and conditional formatting)
  • Ability to travel domestically 10% of the time.
  • Current US Government Secret security clearance

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or related field
  • Experience with Tableau
