Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Project Manager (OCONUS Site Lead) to oversee the implementation of processes and planning for the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Mission Package Design, Engineering, Production and Sustainment (DEP&S) Program. This role involves supporting operations at forward operating sites, facilitating maintenance on mission modules, and acting as the senior contractor on site. The position requires extensive travel, including multi-month overseas deployments, and a Secret clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Site lead for a combined staff of Northrop Grumman and subcontract personnel. Follows department procedures and assists in implementing policies that affect the team, including providing feedback to leadership regarding individual performance.
  2. Develop and maintain close working relationships and liaise with other organizations within the Northrop Grumman Corporation, our vendor base and NAVSEA enterprises to develop and deliver comprehensive schedules and project plans/tasks.
  3. Maintain solid working relationships with government, military and staff assisting with schedule development, preparing correspondence and reports of a technical nature and other duties as required supporting a collaborative team process.
  4. Ensure that major projects and program schedules and plans are integrated across functional groups including training, operations, material, and quality.
  5. Utilize numerous project management techniques and tools to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas.

Skills

Required

  • Associate's Degree and a minimum of 7 years related experience or Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years related experience
  • Experience in the preventative and corrective maintenance of military systems and equipment, serving as lead technician, logistician, or repair team supervisor.
  • Experience with equipment logistics, technical manuals, oversee parts ordering system, quality control inspections.
  • Knowledge of MFOM/AWN Job Development and Management (or equivalent USN maintenance system).
  • Candidate will be required to perform physically demanding work, to include working in tight, restricted access quarters onboard a US Navy warship, climbing 20 ft ladders and standing for long periods of time on a Navy ship or pier.
  • Must be willing to travel (up to 75%) to classified/restricted, hazardous and nonhazardous duty locations, including multi-month overseas deployments.
  • US Citizenship and a U.S. Government interim Secret clearance is required to start.
