This role focuses on leading the measurement strategy for quantum materials and device platforms within Microsoft Quantum. It involves defining and leading cryogenic electrical characterization, developing novel measurement techniques, driving large-scale experimental campaigns, and translating data into actionable insights for qubit performance and system scalability. The role requires technical leadership and collaboration across various scientific and engineering teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and lead cryogenic electrical characterization of quantum materials and devices, including experiments at millikelvin temperatures and high magnetic fields
  2. Develop and deploy novel measurement techniques and protocols to address evolving challenges in topological qubit systems
  3. Drive large-scale experimental campaigns, including data acquisition, statistical analysis, and reporting of results
  4. Extract and translate experimental data into actionable insights for materials selection, fabrication processes, and device design
  5. Provide technical leadership and direction for pathfinding devices and next-generation quantum architectures

Skills

Required

  • Doctorate in Physics, Engineering, or related field OR Master's Degree with 6+ years experience OR Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years experience
