Anduril Industries is a defense technology company seeking a Principal Radar Engineer for space-based RF sensing technologies. The role involves conceptualizing, developing, and implementing advanced radar systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing technical leadership. Experience in space-based defense sensing systems, architecture, and modeling is required, along with eligibility for a U.S. Top Secret security clearance. The position is based in Costa Mesa, CA.

What you'd actually do

  1. Conceptualize, develop, and implement space-based RF sensing technologies for LEO, MEO, and GEO orbital platforms
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and evaluate architectures and concepts of operations for space-based systems-of-systems
  3. Conduct rigorous analysis at the system-of-systems level; assess and decompose requirements flowed down to the space-based sensor subsystem level
  4. Create, communicate, and establish consensus for internal development roadmaps for space-based sensing capabilities
  5. Develop, refine, and realize advanced space-based RF sensing techniques, algorithms, and technologies

Skills

Required

  • 15+ years of experience and at least a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, physics, engineering, or other technical field
  • Proven experience in a technical leadership position developing high-performance space-based defense sensing systems
  • Strong expertise in space-based sensor architecture, operational modes, and system modeling
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance

Nice to have

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in space-based sensing systems development and deployment
  • Demonstrated experience as an individual contributor in space-based RF sensing hardware, algorithms, software, or systems design
  • Experience with satellite payloads, orbital mechanics, and space environment effects on RF systems
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and C++ for real-time systems
