Principal Scientist, Computational Pathobiologist

Seeking a Principal Scientist, Computational Pathobiologist to build the digital and analytical engine for translational safety. This role involves democratizing Pathobiology data, designing, building, and deploying modern data pipelines, automations, and AI-enabled analytics to transform multimodal nonclinical data into decision-ready insights. The scientist will translate complex Pathobiology questions into actionable data science challenges, applying analytics, visualization, modeling, and AI to generate mechanistically grounded adverse outcome pathways and deepen understanding of safety findings.

What you'd actually do

  1. Partner with Pathobiology scientists and leaders across functions to identify, prioritize, and deliver high-impact data use cases aligned with PSTS priorities.
  2. Establish workflows to ingest CRO Pathobiology data in near real time.
  3. Develop and implement scalable processes for data ingestion, integration, curation, standardization, and warehousing.
  4. Apply analytics, intuitive visualizations, and decision-focused summaries tailored to diverse scientific and leadership audiences.
  5. Partner to deploy statistical, machine learning, and AI approaches to complex, multimodal datasets.

Skills

Required

  • Master’s degree in a relevant scientific or computational discipline
  • Experience in computational biology, bioinformatics, or related field
  • Proficiency in data engineering, data warehousing, and data governance
  • Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, and AI approaches
  • Experience with multimodal data integration and analysis
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience in driving digital transformation and data strategy

Nice to have

  • Experience with digital pathology and whole-slide imaging
  • Familiarity with FAIR data principles
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • Knowledge of toxicology and drug safety assessment
