Principal Scientist, Immunopeptidomics

Johnson & Johnson Johnson & Johnson · Pharma · Cambridge, MA +1

The Principal Scientist, Immunopeptidomics role at Johnson & Johnson focuses on leading the development and delivery of immunogenicity assays for drug discovery programs. This involves hands-on assay development, high-throughput screening, data generation, and translating results for program teams, with a focus on biologics, CAR-T, and peptide therapeutics. The role requires expertise in immunology and experience with complex immune cell-based assays, and preferred experience with LC-MS instrumentation and high-throughput workflows.

What you'd actually do

  1. Leading must-win immunogenicity projects across biologics, CAR-T, and peptide therapeutics from early discovery through candidate selection.
  2. Owning the design, implementation, and execution of novel high throughput assays; continuously improving. methods and workflows to enhance efficiency and quality.
  3. Translating assay results into clear, decision-enabling interpretations for program and engineering teams. Ensuring strong data integrity, documentation, and reproducibility.
  4. Driving rapid innovation and providing technical leadership, while building strong multi-functional relationships as a scientific partner.
  5. Developing and operationalizing population-aware immunogenicity risk assessment strategies, ensuring consistent application across programs and integration within discovery and engineering cycles.
