Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal / Senior Principal Electrical Engineer in Melbourne, FL to support lab design and operations. The role involves researching, developing, designing, and testing electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks, including designing electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems. Responsibilities include reviewing test station design documents, generating Bill of Materials (BOMs), coordinating with multi-discipline teams, developing and performing Acceptance Test Procedures, designing interface block diagrams and wiring diagrams, and integrating laboratory systems and electrical assemblies for aerospace programs using tools like AutoCAD Electrical. A Secret clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Review, track, and modify test station design documents as necessary.
  2. Generate and track Bill of Materials (BOMs), schedule, and execution of test station development
  3. Coordinate with a multi-discipline team (supply chain, operations, QA, etc.) to ensure a quality product is built and remains on schedule and within budget
  4. Develop and perform Acceptance Test Procedures for test stations.
  5. Develop, integrate and document Laboratory systems, electrical cable designs and electrical assemblies for aerospace programs.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline
  • 5 years of related professional/military experience (Principal) OR 8 years (Sr. Principal)
  • Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final U.S. adjudicated government Secret clearance
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical Design tool or other Electrical design tool
  • Ability to develop interface block diagram and wiring diagrams
  • Knowledge of networks and Microsoft computer skills
  • Experience with test equipment, such as, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, power supplies, etc.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics and design documentation
  • Understanding of test engineering concepts

Nice to have

  • MS or PhD in Electrical/Systems/STEM Engineering
  • Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance (or higher)
  • Experience with test station design and development
  • Experience with creating and maintaining BOMs (Bill of Materials)
