Upstart is an AI lending marketplace that partners with banks and credit unions to expand access to affordable credit. This Principal Software Engineer role on the Capital Marketplace team will focus on defining the technical roadmap, guiding architectural evolution, and leading initiatives to improve engineering processes and productivity. The role requires strong collaboration with various engineering and product teams, and a focus on driving business impact.

What you'd actually do

  1. Help define the Capital Marketplace engineering’s longer term technical roadmap ensuring alignment with business objectives
  2. Guide the architectural evolution of Capital Marketplace systems with an emphasis on systems shared across the Capital Market engineering teams
  3. Uncover and drive alignment across complex technical requirements, designs, trade-offs, influencing product direction
  4. Proactively evaluate, prototype, and roll out new technologies/frameworks to help cultivate a culture of innovation
  5. Partner with product leaders to shape product direction and drive business impact across all Capital Marketplace products
