Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Software Engineer or Sr. Principal Software Engineer to join their team in Melbourne, Florida. The role involves full software development lifecycle for embedded mission systems software applications on a real-time operating system, working within Agile Scrum teams. Requires experience with C, C++, Python, CI/CD tools, real-time OS, and static/dynamic code analysis. A Secret clearance is mandatory.

What you'd actually do

  2. Participate in the full software development life cycle including requirements, design, implementation, qualification, and delivery of software products to our customers
  3. Architect and develop embedded mission systems software applications on a real time operating system
  4. Be a part of Agile Scrum teams to develop software products for multiple software baselines

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM or equivalent experience
  • Agile Framework experience
  • C, Object Oriented C++, and/or Python development
  • Software Change Control, Change Management, and CI/CD tools (Atlassian, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Architecting, Designing, Implementing, Maintaining, Integrating, Debugging, Verifying and Qualifying Safety/Mission-Critical Embedded Real Time Software
  • Real-Time Operating Systems (VxWorks, Integrity, Real Time Embedded Linux)
  • Static & Dynamic Code Analysis Tools and Fuzzing Tools (Coverity, SonarQube, Fortify)
  • Active DoD Secret level clearance OR Top Secret
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR)

Nice to have

  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork capabilities, strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
  • DOORs and/or Software Requirement Specification Testing using Simulators
  • Automated scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, JavaScript, Bash)
  • Software development and integration with systems engineers, hardware designers and integration/test engineers
