Seeking a Principal Software Engineering Manager for the Microsoft Azure Storage team to lead engineers in improving service quality, chaos engineering, resiliency, and validation infrastructure. The role involves leading the disciplined use of AI tools across the SDLC and integrating Responsible AI practices.

What you'd actually do

  1. Oversees partnership with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project manager, technical lead) to determine user requirements within and across teams for multiple solutions or product lines.
  2. Oversees teams and provides technical leadership for identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
  3. Optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
  4. Oversees teams to drive multiple group's project plans, release plans, and work items in coordination with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) across products.
  5. Leads the resolution of complex site incidents and oversees for Designated Responsible Individuals (DRI) and directs the work of other engineers across product lines.
  6. Keeps informed of and communicates new standards to ensure that the product development and scaling to customer requirements and applies best practices for meeting scaling needs and performance expectations and holds accountability for products that do not meet expectations.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline
  • 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • people management experience
