Principal/ Sr. Principal Digital Verification Engineer

Northrop Grumman Northrop Grumman · Aerospace · San Diego, CA +1 · Engineering Mult-Func

This role focuses on digital verification engineering for software-defined radio systems, involving FPGA verification with VHDL for military applications. It requires defining verification frameworks, developing verification plans, simulating and validating FPGA logic designs, debugging failures, and performing regression testing within a team environment. The position is contingent on obtaining a US Government secret clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and maintain digital logic design verification frameworks and architectures for software-defined radio systems
  2. Develop a verification plan based on digital logic design requirements and design specifications
  3. Simulate and verify FPGA logic designs, requirements, and perform system validation
  4. Analyze and debug simulation failures, determine root causes of bugs, and work with designers to resolve issues
  5. Perform regression testing and generate verification metrics and reporting

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other STEM discipline
  • 5+ years of digital verification engineering experience (Principal) or 8+ years (Sr. Principal)
  • Experience in VHDL design and verification methodologies
  • FPGA deployable product process experience
  • Experience developing verification plans, functional tests, test benches, and bus functional models
  • Experience using Siemens Questa Simulator
  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance

Nice to have

  • Active Security Clearance
