Northrop Grumman is seeking an Energetics Manufacturing Engineer (level 3 or 4) in Elkton, MD. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes for highly energetic, static-sensitive, and corrosive materials. Key responsibilities include ensuring process safety, compliance with regulations (DOD4145.26 ATF, HOPs), process documentation, lean manufacturing implementation, capacity planning, and supporting cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and failure mode investigations. The role also involves establishing manufacturing lines, defining facility and equipment needs, and supporting continuous improvement activities.

What you'd actually do

  1. Designs manufacturing processes, for highly energetic, static sensitive, corrosive, and chemical processes.
  2. Designs arrangement of machines and tools within the facility to ensure the most safe and efficient layout.
  3. Implements qualification and change management processes to ensure products or services meet customer requirements.
  4. Engineer must understand all safety risks of the process and design the processes such that safety risks are mitigated or eliminated.
  5. Supports cross function matrixed investigation teams with emphasis on root cause analysis, process failure modes, non-conformances and effective analysis.
