Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Engineer Aeronautical to lead the Vehicle Management Subsystem (VMS) Hardware Avionics. This role involves technical direction, hands-on engineering, and cross-functional integration for power systems, flight control computers, qualification testing, production support, and obsolescence mitigation. Responsibilities include leading trade studies, capturing requirements, performing design, planning and executing qualification testing, developing software tools for automation, supporting production, managing obsolescence, authoring deliverables, conducting risk/cost/schedule analysis, mentoring staff, and driving continuous improvement. Experience with embedded systems, avionics, and scripting for automation is required.

  • 5 years of experience (Principal) or 8 years (Sr. Principal)
  • Ability to obtain a U.S Government Secret clearance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Visio)
  • Proficiency with MATLAB
  • Experience with computer hardware
  • Experience with embedded operating systems
  • Experience with avionics subsystems
