This role is for a Principal/Sr. Principal Facilities Engineer at Northrop Grumman, focusing on industrial facility mechanical design, particularly for chemical plant systems. What you'd actually do

  1. Manage projects and coordinate all procurements and installation to meet the program cost and schedule requirements for capital upgrades.
  2. Provide engineering design as needed to support the Facilities Engineering Department. This could include:
  3. Prepare design calculations and specifications for major plant related equipment including, but not limited to heat exchangers, industrial chillers, cooling towers, boilers, condensers, and pumps.
  4. Troubleshoot industrial mechanical equipment. Resolve equipment problems in the field through technical assistance with Maintenance Craftsmen.
  5. Providing detailed cost estimates for project design and implementation

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM
  • 5+ years industrial facility mechanical design experience (Level 3)
  • 8+ years industrial facility mechanical design experience (Level 4)
  • Industrial process equipment/facilities design
  • AutoCAD drafting ability
  • Ability to work in the field, climb ladders, work outside and work in congested areas.
