Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Engineer Systems Architect to join their Test & Evaluation organization in Melbourne, Florida. The role involves designing system architectures, defining capabilities and requirements, and establishing technology constraints for a System Integration Lab environment. The candidate will develop requirements and architectural diagrams, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and work within an agile environment using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools like Cameo. Experience with mission systems (RF, satellite communications, air vehicles, networking) and developing MBSE products is required. A Top Secret clearance is also necessary.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work with the cross-functional engineering teams to create a baseline architecture for the SIL and STIL
  2. Develop the lab design requirements and architecture in Cameo
  3. Align with System Test and Responsible Engineers to support development of Requirements Test and Verification Matrix (RTVM) Lab requirements
  4. Manage major subs and Partners/Suppliers to include lab build plans and architectural phases
  5. Present SIL/STIL designs to Program and Customer leadership at Systems Engineering Technical Readiness (SETR) events

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in STEM or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of related professional/military experience (Principal) or 8 years (Sr. Principal)
  • Master of Science degree in STEM or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of related professional/military experience (Principal) or 6 years (Sr. Principal)
  • active US Government Secret clearance
  • ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Top Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP)
  • experience working as an engineer in a system test lab environment
  • understanding of mission systems (RF, satellite communications, message processing, mission systems architecture, air vehicle systems, simulation environments, networking)
  • Experience developing model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering

Nice to have

  • Experience communicating design concepts to management and customers
  • Experienced using MBSE tools like CAMEO
  • Experienced with Electronic
