Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Sr Principal Proposal Analyst to support the F-35 Production & Development Operating Unit. The role involves leading and supporting proposal activities, including developing, planning, and scheduling proposals, compiling cost, schedule, and technical elements, researching historical data, developing cost models, coordinating fact-finding meetings, and participating in pricing reviews and negotiations. The position requires experience in estimating, pricing, finance, contracts, and knowledge of government contracting regulations (FAR, DFARS).

What you'd actually do

  1. Develops, plans and schedules proposals.
  2. Compiles cost, schedule, and technical elements in the development of proposals in accordance with request for proposal (RFP) specifications.
  3. Coordinates the collection and accumulation of cost, scheduling, and performance elements from functional departments.
  4. Researches and analyzes historical data, develops cost models to support proposal efforts.
  5. Coordinates activities and participates in fact-finding meetings.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics or related discipline with 5 years of proposal or material estimating experience OR a Master's degree in business, finance, economics or related discipline with 3 years of proposal or material estimating experience
  • Experience in estimating, pricing, finance, contracts, business and/or business operations.
  • Ability to perform and apply cost accounting, pricing and estimating concepts and principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools/applications, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other U.S. Federal Government contracting regulations
  • US Citizenship
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance.

Nice to have

  • Strong attention to detail with an appreciation for accuracy and high standards of quality
  • Experience with developing and/or analyzing Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
  • Proven ability to independently complete projects with limited supervision
  • Demonstrated experience creating spreadsheets and performing data analysis to create meaningful insights for decision-making
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and complete work timely in a deadline driven environment.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced Excel skills is highly preferred.
  • Prior Price Estimating experience
  • Experience with ProPricer or BOENext
