Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Propulsion Engineer to perform analysis, design, or test of materials, structural components, and control systems for propulsion systems (electric, solid/liquid fuel rocket, air-breathing, thrusters) for launch vehicles, missile systems, and space mission systems. Responsibilities include developing methodologies, preparing technical reports, assessing test data, developing material models, leading failure investigations, and assisting in design of experiments and test articles.

What you'd actually do

  1. Taking role in developing methodologies, interpretation of analytical results, and recommendation for design improvement.
  2. Preparation of technical reports and presentations of work product to both internal and external customers.
  3. Provide technical assessments of test hardware and test data
  4. Development of material models for thermal or structural analyses efforts. Assist in development of material test plans, selection of test methods, test data analysis to support material modeling efforts.
  5. Lead analytical services in support of failure investigations: developing fault trees, developing approaches and providing analytical efforts to assess fault causes

Skills

Required

  • Bachelors in Engineering
  • 5 years of experience (Principal) or 8 years of experience (Sr. Principal)
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • US Citizenship
