This role is for a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist at Northrop Grumman. The primary responsibilities involve developing supply chain strategy, managing GSC scope for programs, coordinating cross-functionally to meet supply chain commitments, and leading supply chain execution. The role requires experience in Global Supply Chain, SAP/MRP systems, supplier financial reporting, contracting, and knowledge of Federal and Defense contracting requirements. It is not directly related to AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develops supply chain strategy and leads activities for GSC in all phases of the Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process (BAP).
  2. Manages the GSC scope for multifaceted program(s), proposal through close-out. Coordinates interdepartmental activity, directs communication, coordinates with Suppliers, and integrates efforts across all GSC functions.
  3. Coordinates cross-functionally (with all program functions) to ensure supply chain commitments are met and that appropriate integrated mitigation or opportunity plans are developed and executed.
  4. Leads supply chain execution and is accountable for horizontal and vertical integration, resource planning, material cost, forecasting, schedule performance, risk/opportunity and issue management, supplier performance, and issue resolution.
  5. Aligns project scope and deliverables with customer requirements and works closely with the technical community.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of experience, or Master’s Degree with at least 3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Program/Project Management, Engineering, Business Management, or related field
  • Experience working in Global Supply Chain
  • Experience with SAP and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems
  • Experience in supplier financial reporting/forecasting, contracting/subcontracting, and supplier/program/product scheduling
  • Experience in knowledge of Federal and Defense contracting requirements including ITAR and FAR/DFARS
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance

Nice to have

  • Active Secret or Top-Secret Security clearance
  • Master's Degree
  • APICS/ASCM Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) certification or similar
  • Significant experience with SAP or similar Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system(s)
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills
  • Knowledge/experience in Earned Value Management Systems
  • Experience working with multiple complex contracting types and agreements, including Firm Fixed Price and Cost Reimbursable, and possess knowledge relating to special payment provisions (progress of performance base payments).
  • Demonstrated success/experience in supply chain, business management, operations, logistics, engineering or program management
  • Experience with proposal process, pricing instructions, and terms and conditions
  • Demonstrated ability to influence team members, interact with peers and all levels of management in the organization
