This role is for a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist at Northrop Grumman, focusing on defining and executing material strategies, leading demand-supply planning with MRP tools, optimizing inventory, and conducting make-vs-buy analysis. What you'd actually do

  1. Define and execute the material strategy, aligning supply resources with corporate objectives and product line priorities.
  2. Lead demand‑supply planning with MRP tools; aggregate forecasts, assess purchase‑material positions, and produce rough‑cut capacity and production schedules.
  3. Optimize inventory across dependent and independent BOMs, adjusting supply requirements to balance service levels, working capital, and stock‑out risk.
  4. Conduct make‑vs‑buy analysis and manage product phase‑in, phase‑out, manufacturing ramp‑up, and end‑of‑life transitions.
  5. Partner with sourcing, operations, and finance to synchronize inventory targets, resolve non‑standard part requirements, and mitigate critical‑path procurements.
