**What You Will Do **
The SAP Business Administrator will ensure that the company’s SAP environments are functioning efficiently and provide world-class customer support. This role supports key SAP Applications which touches all aspects of the company’s financial, ordering, inventory, purchasing, shipping, and engineering practices. You will form cross-department collaboration with technical teams, as well as provide hands-on experience in daily operations and project initiatives.
The SAP Basis Administrator will be responsible for the optimal performance and uptime of Enterprise Critical Business Systems within the SAP landscape across the global environment. This person will analyze processes and data to identify automation opportunities, including key activities such as opportunities for improvement, document business processes, and provide additional support coverage for the existing team.
The candidate will be empowered to make technical decisions with latitude for independent judgment. By analysis of system data and partnership with other company technical/business leaders, the Basis Administrator can identify enhancement targets in the landscape and play a key role in the corporate digital strategy. You will bring fresh, innovative ideas that embrace a continuous improvement culture.
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategic:
- Develop understanding of key business processes within SAP and collaborate with team members in designing solutions and process improvements, including data center, network, and security teams to drive solutions for SAP that meet our standards and roadmaps.
- Execute against systems architecture roadmaps including SAP landscape management and other related systems.
- Participate in and understand SAP infrastructure design including server, storage, high availability, and disaster recovery capabilities.
Operational:
- Perform core SAP Basis administrator functions including processing service management tickets, performance monitoring, tuning and capacity management utilizing enterprise standards and leveraging best operating practices.
- Plan, Install, Patch SAP and DB systems, Perform System Refreshes
- Be part of on-call rotation and Flexible to work in US hours.
- Work weekends when required.
- Participate in health-check, break/fix and operational report activities.
- Prepare formal documentation as needed including specifications, requirements, logical system design documents, system diagrams, and test scripts.
- Monitor, analyze, and identify trends for system performance and resource utilization.
- Support the SAP DT teams during critical system outages and maintenance periods.
**Qualifications You Must Have **
- Bachelor’s degree and 8+years' experience working in an SAP Basis role, with understanding of IT networking concepts, servers, storage, databases, PCs, and applications architecture years of prior relevant experience.
- Knowledge of systems architecture / performance management methodologies and tools.
- Ability to communicate with many levels of the organization including leadership.
- Experience administrating SAP ECC, BW, PI, Solution Manager, and HANA systems.
- Experience in Shell scripting, Excel VBA
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with SAP technology, architecture and interfaces including SAP batch processing.
- Prior work in a large, global SAP environment
- Experience with Oracle, HANA, Linux, and Cloud
- Knowledge of ITIL framework and / or LEAN manufacturing tools and methodologies.
- Experience with SAP S/4, CRM, SNC, SLT, Hybris, and Web Dispatchers
- Knowledge of Web technologies, Firewalls, Proxies, SSO frameworks
- Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one work area.
- Typically has broad knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
- Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
- Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
