Principal Systems Administrator

This role is for a Principal Systems Administrator responsible for managing IT systems in a mixed Windows and Linux environment. Key responsibilities include system internals, troubleshooting, and obtaining specific IT certifications. Experience with containerization, CI/CD tools, and virtual computing is preferred. A security clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Experience with IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.
  2. Experience with Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
  3. Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
  4. Experience with troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
  5. Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.

Skills

Required

  • University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux

  • Containerization Technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Tanzu, and Rancher
  • Continuous Integration\Continuous Delivery Tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps
  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIASecurity+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification)
  • NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF, data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions
  • VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods
  • Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange
  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment
