This role is for a Principal Systems Architect Engineer focused on Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using Cameo Systems Modeler. Responsibilities include requirements development, system decomposition, cyber-architecture support, Zero-Trust concepts, cloud integration, automation scripting (Ansible/Terraform), CI/CD pipeline integration for model validation, and test planning. The role requires a STEM Bachelor's degree with experience, an active Secret clearance, and experience with MBSE modeling, cyber frameworks, and cross-domain solutions.

What you'd actually do

  1. Functional-requirements development – Elicit, document, and prioritize system functional requirements.
  2. System-engineering decomposition – Translate functional requirements into hardware and software architectures; define clear interfaces.
  3. Cameo Systems Modeler production – Build Activity, Internal Block Diagram (IBD), and Block Definition Diagram (BDD) models; maintain model traceability and version control.
  4. Cyber-architecture support – Apply JSIG/NIST guidance to map cyber requirements onto system designs.
  5. Zero-Trust & IAM concepts – Contribute to Zero-Trust network and RBAC/IAM design documentation.

Skills

Required

  • STEM Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 5+ years of relevant experience (or 3 with Master's, 1 with PhD)
  • Active US Government Secret or higher clearance
  • Experience developing Activity, IBD, and BDD models
  • Experience with model libraries and traceability
  • Experience with cross-domain solutions, multi-level security (IL-4/5/6), and government-furnished hardware/software (GFX/GFE)
  • Experience with NIST, JSIG, and US Government cyber-risk frameworks

Nice to have

  • Experience with Azure, AWS GovCloud, or Google Cloud architectures
  • Knowledge of Zero-Trust, RBAC/IAM, and micro-segmentation concepts
  • Proficiency in Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, or Python for automation
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins)
  • Background in defense, aerospace, or missile systems
  • Certified MBSE Professional
  • Azure Solutions Architect Associate
  • CISSP (or equivalent)
