Principal Systems Engineer - Client Development

This Principal Systems Engineer role focuses on the full lifecycle design, implementation, and testing of software, particularly for developing software and analytical tools to model system behavior in simulations. It requires experience with object-oriented programming, software development in Windows/Linux environments, and version control. A strong STEM background and a Top Secret clearance are mandatory. Preferred qualifications include experience with mission planning, systems performance analysis, or modeling/simulation of defense-related systems (RF, EW, RADAR, missiles, aircraft, satellites), and familiarity with system of systems modeling tools.

What you'd actually do

  1. Full lifecycle design, implementation, and unit testing of software.
  2. In depth understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field listed under the basic qualifications.
  3. Design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
  4. Develop software and analytical tools to model behavior of systems in real-time and constructive simulations.
  5. Solicit input from various stakeholders, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of leadership.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelors degree in a STEM field and at least 5 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field and at least 3 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 1 year of relevant military / professional / academic experience
  • computer/engineering skills using Object Oriented Programming languages (MATLAB, python, C#/++)
  • developing software for use in both Windows and Linux environments
  • version control tools (Bitbucket, GitHub, Gitlab, etc.)
  • active US Government Secret or higher clearance
  • ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

Nice to have

  • Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance or higher
  • Mission planning and CONOPS development
  • Systems performance monitoring and analysis
  • Modeling or Simulation of RF propagation, Electronic Warfare, RADAR, missiles, aircraft, or satellites.

  • work with a team in a rapid prototyping environment.
