What you'd actually do

  1. Organize and lead the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation while collaborating with the customer, subcontractors, and executive leadership.
  2. Guide the development of new technologies to support business capture.
  3. Identify technology gaps in existing systems and solutions.
  4. Own the preparation, cost, and schedule of Design Reviews as well as Development, Integration, Dry Run, and Formal Qualification Testing.
  5. Influence decision-makers with recommended courses of action across complex problems.

Skills

Required

  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams of design professionals including Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Test, Logistics and other System Engineers.
  • Experience in at least three of the following areas: Systems Engineering/Test Engineering/Software Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience across the Systems Engineering V with an emphasis on development, integration, and test.
  • Experience working with Secure Voice and VTC Communication Systems.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART).
  • Experience with voice communication systems, including VoIP (Voice over IP) protocols like SIP, RTP and SRTP.
  • Familiarity with multicast networking (e.g., IGMP, PIM) for efficient data transmission in communication systems.
  • Strong understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, UDP, and network troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark).
  • Basic understanding of firmware development (VHDL) and/or software development (C/C++, Python).
  • Knowledge of military specifications (e.g., MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461) for designing rugged and reliable systems.
  • Proficiency in system design tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, or equivalent).
  • Experience leading discussions with customers and vendors/subcontractors.
  • A current active Top-Secret Clearance.
