Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Systems Integration & Test Engineer to support test and verification activities of RF sensor systems. The role involves hands-on integration and testing of hardware and software components, developing test plans, analyzing test results, and using modeling and simulation tools. Requires a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, an active DoD Secret clearance, and experience with RF lab test equipment and MATLAB coding.

What you'd actually do

  1. Integration, troubleshooting, and testing RF sensor systems
  2. Support integration environment development and establishment (Labs)
  3. Collaborate with software, firmware, and hardware teams to understand expected unit level and system level behavior to define test cases and define & develop test capabilities that exercise and stress respective software and hardware capabilities.
  4. Collaborate with software, firmware, and hardware subject matter experts to ensure testing produces expected data points.
  5. Support the development and maintenance of system integration plans and system test plans.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelors degree with 5 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with 1 year of experience in a STEM discipline. 4 additional years in lieu of a degree
  • Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to obtain/maintain Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start is required.
  • Candidate must be a US citizen
  • Experience with RF lab test equipment: i.e. signal generator, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving HW/SW/FW integration problems
  • Experience coding in MATLAB to support coding, test scripting, data analysis, and signal processing
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Experience with flight test operations, integrating systems in a flight test bed, troubleshooting, coordinating, and collaborating with multiple sub-discipline teams.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate internally
  • Ability to qualify for program access based on customer requirements (SAP/SAR)
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Baltimore, MD

Nice to have

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher
  • Previous experience working on a Special Access Program
  • Knowledge integrating and testing software written in C, C++.
  • Knowledge of RADAR Systems
  • Knowledge of firmware and hardware control integration planning and execution
  • Knowledge of embedded systems design and implementation
  • Experience developing scripts in python to automate manual processes.
  • Experience working a system bench, running acceptance test plans, writing test reports, troubleshooting hardware and software, communicating status updates.
  • Experience with Environmental, EMI/EMC integration and testing
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering concepts, including requirements analysis and verification planning and execution
