This role is for a Principal Technical Program Manager within Microsoft's Industry Solutions Engineering (ISE) team. The primary focus is on collaborating with customers to understand their needs and co-develop cloud-based solutions, particularly leveraging AI, to address their toughest challenges. The TPM will define customer scenarios, orchestrate engineering approaches, develop user stories, and manage cross-functional projects to deliver impactful solutions. While the role involves working with AI technologies, the core function is program management and customer-facing solution development, not direct AI/ML model building or research.

What you'd actually do

  1. You will partner with Software Engineering, Data Scientists, Designers, and SMEs to design complex technical solutions across feature areas. You’ll also give key stakeholders data-driven recommendations based on identified risks.
  2. You’ll define success criteria and create relationships for implementing multiple feature areas for highly complex cross-functional projects. You’ll coordinate and ensure alignment across the business.
  3. You will deliver on roadmap for multiple feature groups across divisions, track project schedules, drive development of staging and implementation plans, and lead governance programs.
  4. You will drive continuous improvements by validating use cases and writing test cases from scratch. You’ll also provide expertise needed for departments to collect performance metrics, lead customer support, and define and lead direct customer engagements.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • OR equivalent experience.

  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Enjoy travel and are comfortable with travel up to 25%
  • 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
