This Principal Technical Project Management role at Mastercard is responsible for leading a team of TPMs and driving complex, high-impact initiatives. The role partners with Data & Governance and Technology Operations stakeholders to ensure strategic programs are well-planned and executed. It involves both strategic planning and hands-on program leadership, focusing on delivery standards, talent coaching, and managing a portfolio of programs. Key responsibilities include program governance, stakeholder engagement, and operational effectiveness in a global environment. The role requires strong communication, strategic thinking, and risk management skills, with a focus on delivering predictable outcomes for technical initiatives.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own and drive critical programs directly, particularly high-risk, high-visibility, or strategically significant initiatives.
  2. Oversee a portfolio of programs across Data & Governance and Technology Operations, ensuring alignment to enterprise objectives.
  3. Ensure consistent application of program management rigor, including planning, dependency management, risk mitigation, and execution tracking.
  4. Partner with Data & Governance leaders to translate strategy into executable roadmaps and delivery plans.
  5. Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders across Technology Operations, Data, Engineering, Security, and Product.

Skills

Required

  • Proven experience delivering results in technical program management, engineering program leadership, or related capacity.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale, cross-functional technical initiatives in complex environments.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, data platforms, or technology operations.
