AWS AI Engineering team works with customers to build and use AI agents to transform how work gets done. You will work with AWS customers to design and productionize agentic systems using services like Amazon Bedrock and AgentCore, contribute to open-source AI accelerators, and help customers adopt AI-native software development practices.
The role splits roughly 50/50 between direct customer executive engagements and building leverage through reusable assets, open source, and thought leadership. In customer work, you will partner with leadership of software development teams to leverage AI coding tools like Kiro, Claude Code on Bedrock, and Codex on Bedrock. You'll work hands-on to unblock adoption and ensure solutions are secure, reliable, and cost-effective. In your building time, you will create reference implementations, contribute to open-source projects, and develop content that enables the broader community. You will work closely with AWS service teams to close the loop between what customers need and what AWS builds.
This is a global role within the Solutions Architect organization. You will maintain deep relationships with AI service teams and collaborate with specialists across regions to stay current on capabilities and influence roadmaps.

Key job responsibilities
- Own strategic AI-focused customer engagements from kick-off through delivery, applying Working Backwards methodology to define solution requirements, success criteria, and scope
- Facilitate AI Engineering solution design and agentic architecture patterns, adoption of AI-driven development tools & methods to accelerate delivery
- Partner with Global Sales and Solutions Architecture teams to identify and qualify Generative AI and Agentic AI opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with customer executives and AWS leadership through structured communications, operational reviews, and clear reporting on AI outcomes and business impact
- Establish engagement metrics, track delivery velocity, and contribute to program-level KPIs that measure success
- Develop and implement processes that improve team efficiency, prototype delivery speed, and knowledge sharing across AWS
- Proactively identify risks specific to AI implementations and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes
- Apply product thinking to ensure AI prototypes are designed with responsible AI practices, production readiness, and long-term customer value

We operate at the frontier of AI, bridging foundation models and production systems through direct customer engagements, open-source accelerators, and close collaboration with AWS service teams. Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of senior customer facing role experience
- 15+ years of leading complex, large-scale, IT, technical or engineering programs experience
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or a related field
- Experience in a senior customer-facing role

- Experience working with current technologies (especially cloud)
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP/SCRUM/Agile certification or are you SAFe certified
- Knowledge of key technology and market trends

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
