This role is for a Principal Windows System Administrator at RTX, focusing on building, hardening, and sustaining secure Windows environments for classified programs. The position requires deep expertise in Windows technologies, Active Directory, and adherence to security frameworks like DFARS and NIST. The administrator will be responsible for system optimization, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance within a 24x7x365 environment. A U.S. government security clearance is mandatory.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as a Windows System Administrator with deep expertise in Microsoft Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2019/2022, Active Directory Domain Services, Group Policy, Skype, Exchange, MECM, PowerShell, and related Windows enterprise technologies within a largescale, 24x7x365 environment.
  2. Build, harden, and sustain secure and reliable Windows servers, desktop, and virtual infrastructures while ensuring adherence to DFARS, RMF, and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  3. Collaborate across Digital Technology, program teams, and cross‑functional engineering groups to deliver cost‑effective, best‑practice hardware and software solutions and resolve complex infrastructure challenges.
  4. Ensure reliability and high performance through proactive monitoring, system optimization, and infrastructure management, maintaining a strong understanding of Windows performance requirements. Develop and maintain technical and operational documentation to continually enhance Windows services and capabilities.
  5. Lead performance tuning, patching, lifecycle management, licensing oversight, and hardware/software refresh activities to ensure ongoing system health and compliance.
