This Principal Windows System Administrator role at RTX focuses on developing, implementing, and maintaining secure IT infrastructure environments for classified programs. Responsibilities include Windows and Linux system administration, advanced ticket support, virtualization, SharePoint administration, and collaboration with cybersecurity professionals. A strong emphasis is placed on security clearance and compliance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
  2. Windows Server management fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
  3. Provide advanced support on L2/L3 tickets and troubleshoot technical issues reported by users.
  4. Administer and optimize virtualization platforms.
  5. SharePoint administration to include create and manage sites, manage sharing settings, manage groups, and manage site storage limits.

Skills

Required

  • Microsoft Windows Server and client operating systems
  • SharePoint administration
  • VMware vCenter, vSphere, VDI (Horizon), ESX and/or other virtual computing methods
  • Scripting experience
  • Developing documentation and communicate technical processes

Nice to have

  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification)
  • Containerization Technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Tanzu, and Rancher
  • Continuous Integration\Continuous Delivery Tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps
  • NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF
  • SQL Server administration
