ファンクショナル業務
- 責任範囲の機器とプロセスの技術的専門知識を習得する
- プロセスパラメータと品質コントロールストラテジーの関係性を理解する
- 機器の基礎設計(要求仕様)の理解
- トラブルシューティングに対する取り組みを主導し、問題解決をリードする。根本原因分析を含む問題解決手法を使い、機器の問題を解決する
- 機器の性能を検証・最適化するため、プロセスをモニタリングし、データを分析する
- 機器のパフォーマンスに関するデータを基にクロスファンクショナルなディスカッションを主導し、ビジネスへの付加価値の高い案件を優先的に実施 (ボトルネック分析、計画外ライン停止の排除、バッチ間のスタートアップ改善) する
- 第一原理を用いて、制御システム、生産プロセス、業務改善を定義・計画・実施する
- 機器関連の逸脱調査を支援し、機器の故障要因の理解をすることで、機器関連の逸脱に対して適切な対策を実施する
- 設備変更、保全業務を通して機器の適格性を維持する
- 設備やプロセスに変更が生じた際、変更のスコープ設定及びその導入をする
- 適切な記録方法にて、変更・保守作業を文書化する
- クオリフィケーションの必要性を理解したうえ、必要な場合はクオリフィケーション業務を実施する
- 割り当てられたプロセス機器に関連する改善の特定・推進

Position Brand Description:
Engineer – Process is the equipment expert for their process in a cross-functional technical team to establish and maintain the reliable operation and the qualified state of manufacturing lines. The individual will be responsible for developing and implementing process improvements to achieve business needs. The Process Engineer will ensure processes are in-control, capable, and compliant.
Key Objectives / Deliverables:
Safety
- Ensure a safe working environment by following HSE policies and helping to improve the safety culture within the process team.
- Actively participate in safety-related activities (audits, JSA’s, hazard reviews, etc.) to drive ongoing safety improvement.
- Understand and support safe operation of the equipment within the area.
Functional
- Obtain technical expertise of equipment and processes in area of responsibility.
- Understand Operational Control Strategies and how equipment impacts related process parameters.
- Understand the basis for the design of the equipment (i.e., User Requirements).
- Lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve equipment and operational problems. Apply formal problem-solving techniques, including Root Cause Analysis, to resolve equipment issues.
- Analyze and monitor / trend equipment process and controls as tool for verifying and optimizing equipment performance.
- Lead cross functional data-based discussions about equipment performance to identify and prioritize improvement initiatives that are aligned with process area business needs (bottleneck analysis, special and common cause downtime elimination, batch to batch startup resolutions).
- Seek out, define, and implement control system, production process, and business improvements using first principle.
- Support equipment related deviation investigations, understand potential equipment failure modes, and implement appropriate countermeasure for equipment related deviations.
- Ensure the qualified state of the equipment is maintained and monitored through asset life cycle changes, maintenance work, and interventions.
- Support the implementation of and define the scope of changes required due to commercialization modifications and additions in applicable process area.
- Use the appropriate methods to document changes, maintenance work, and interventions (Change Controls, Work Orders, Service Tickets).
- Understand requirements of and perform commissioning and qualification activities as required.
- Identify and drive improvement opportunities (procedural changes, upgrades, projects, etc.) associated with assigned process equipment.
**Fundamental Deliverables **
- Communicate effectively with others, especially process team members, fitters, and other engineering members.
- Educate, coach, and collaborate with process team members including operations, fitters, and engineering front line staff.
- Be prepared for and participate in process team meetings.
- Use project management practices for improvement initiatives and communicate the status of initiatives to process team.
- Prioritize time and task execution based on impact to business needs.
- Escalate technical, safety, and quality issues as recommended by process area.
- Maintain completion of all required learning for job responsibilities.
- Manage and balance multiple initiatives concurrently.
Site Expectations:
- Provide support for unscheduled downtime of equipment.
- Lead by example to ensure safety and support HSE Corporate and Site Goals.
- Oversee the ongoing asset qualification monitoring of direct impact systems to verify that they remain in a state that is fit for their intended use.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to work in a safe manner to ensure the safety of self and others.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills to be able to work effectively in a dynamic and disciplined team-based manufacturing environment.
- Japanese (with native fluency) and English communication (Read, write and conversation)
Additional Preferences:
- Previous engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Pharmaceutical experience
- Packaging experience
- Working knowledge of cGMP practices and procedures.
- Commissioning and Qualification experience or similar Capital Asset Delivery experience.
- Applied knowledge of project management tools and processes.
