Process Automation and Reengineering Associate

This role focuses on automating and reengineering manual operational processes within JPMorgan Chase's Commercial & Investment Bank. The Associate will collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities, design and implement automation solutions, and develop reporting and analytics to track improvements. The role requires programming skills (Python), experience with automation tools, and strong analytical and communication abilities.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate across multiple lines of business to build, deliver, and sustain an automation book of work.
  2. Assess existing processes through structured reviews and partner with subject matter experts to identify reengineering and automation opportunities.
  3. Design and implement automation solutions to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and enhance scalability of operational workflows.
  4. Develop management reporting to support prioritization, capacity planning, and progress tracking across automation initiatives.
  5. Create dashboard analytics to monitor process improvement KPIs and communicate impact to stakeholders.

Skills

Required

  • Python or another modern programming language used for automation and data analysis
  • Experience building automated solutions (e.g., scripts, workflows, or tooling)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn new tools and concepts quickly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to work independently and in collaborative team settings
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and influencing skills

Nice to have

  • Financial services experience
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise automation platforms such as UiPath and/or Alteryx
  • Practical experience using AI/LLM capabilities for workflow automation, analysis, or productivity improvements
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and/or operational reengineering
  • Experience building KPI dashboards and operational metrics for continuous improvement tracking
