This role is for a Process Equipment & Facilities Engineer at Northrop Grumman, focusing on the maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of facilities, industrial buildings, and vacuum/electro-mechanical equipment. The position involves electrical work, general maintenance, and documentation, with a requirement for a Secret security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Create, update, and archive detailed maintenance procedures, system configurations, and repair logs.
  2. Size, install, and troubleshoot 120 V‑480 V circuits, distribution panels, and related infrastructure for both building systems and vacuum equipment.
  3. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on vacuum chambers, pumps, and associated electromechanical components; conduct calibrations and performance checks.
  4. Assist with troubleshooting, problem analysis, and data collection.
  5. Plans, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM discipline and related professional/military experience
  • Experience working as an electrical/facilities/maintenance technician
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices, which would include various hardware components, fasteners, and installation techniques for electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level DOD security clearance
  • Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends as business requires
  • Ability to frequently lift and maneuver objects weighing to 50 lbs. independently
  • Able to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result
  • Ability to communicating and working in and around ambient noise in an office and industrial environment
  • Able to work in both external and internal environmental conditions
  • Ability to work in areas that could cause various phobias such as heights or close spaces
  • Ability to handle and assemble small parts
